Lisa
M.S. Barrow, D.M. is the creator of a new leadership model entitled, Philanthropian Leadership:
Other Focused Leadership For The 21st Century. The focus of philanthropian leadership is on enhancing
leader-employee relationships by bringing a sense of humanness into the
relationships. Philanthropian leadership consists of five elements, love, which
is valuing others, compassion, caring, altruism, and perceptive listening. Lisa
holds a M.S. in Industrial Technology and a Doctor of Management with an
emphasis on organizational leadership. With over 20 years of experience in
management positions, Lisa has had responsibilities from ranging from Quality
Assurance Engineer to Supervisory positions in various manufacturing arenas.
Lisa teaches operations management, leadership, and business courses at the
university level. She is a training facilitator for organizations. Lisa’s first
book, A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Study of Philanthropian Leadership (2004),
reflects the research she conducted pertaining to the leader-employee
relationship and philanthropian leadership. Lisa’s second book, Hope For A
Healthy Workplace: Introducing Philanthropian Leadership will be available
Fall, 2005. This book provides insights into the leader-employee relationships
